Lincoln Riley has done a fantastic job with Oklahoma football in his three years as head coach and he is closing in on another elite recruiting class.

If you’re an Oklahoma fan, you have to be excited about the direction of the program under Lincoln Riley.

The young head coach has pieced together a few College Football Playoff seasons as well as two Heisman Trophy winners in three years. But that’s just the start of the head coach’s tenure in Norman as things will only get better — especially when he finally wins a playoff game.

It all starts with recruiting and the Sooners have the No. 9 class in 2020 and it’s also No. 1 in the Big 12, according to 247Sports. It’s not done yet, though.

Who tops Oklahoma’s recruiting board for National Signing Day?

This will be one of those unlikely scenarios, but for now, Oklahoma is still in the running for three-star offensive tackle Brady Ward from Mobile, Ala.

The Sooners may be looking to bolster their already-solid offensive line depth and Ward would be a perfect 1-2 year project who could take over as a redshirt sophomore or junior and start with plenty of experience. However, the Sooners will have to fend off the likes of Arkansas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Indiana for his services.

Arkansas looks like the leader right now and I’d be surprised if he picked anyone else, but Oklahoma still has a slim chance.

Ward is ranked the No. 573 overall recruit and 44th-best offensive tackle, per 247Sports. He is also a giant at 6-7 and 310 pounds. Size will not be a problem for him at the next level.
