Arguably the fastest-rising recruit in the 2020 class has been Ennis Rakestraw and he’s credited for stopping multiple elite receivers in the Texas state playoffs which has led to his rise up the ranks and multiple Power Five interests.

Rakestraw went from a lowly-rated three-star prospect to a kid receiving offers from Alabama, Texas, Missouri, Michigan State and countless others. He’s been one of those kids who has gone from a no-name to the hottest commodity at cornerback in the class, in terms of uncommitted kids, and he could be a not-so-hidden gem.

Texas needs some major defensive help and that’s where Rakestraw comes in. He’s a Duncanville, Texas, native so that means he probably grew up watching the Longhorns and he can help them get back to that lockdown defense.

Rakestraw is ranked the No. 895 player as well as the 71st-best cornerback in the class, according to 247Sports. He is down to the Crimson Tide, Longhorns and Missouri.

This might be a tough pull for Texas.
