Lane Kiffin’s first signing class with Ole Miss football is in the books and here’s which incoming freshmen could have immediate impacts.

All aboard, the Lane Train is about to leave the station.

Excitement is at an all-time high in Oxford as Lane Kiffin has taken the head coaching job at Ole Miss and he is bringing a winning attitude and plenty of experience with him.

Kiffin takes over for Matt Luke who was surprisingly let go after the season from his alma mater and he should have plenty of success if he just strikes the recruiting gold that a coach like Hugh Freeze did a few years back — without the sanctions this time.

The Rebels’ first class under Kiffin (technically) is ranked No. 12 in the SEC but is still top-40 in the country. There are some guys who could come in and have an immediate impact on the roster.

Which 2020 signees will haves instant impacts for the Rebels?

While he’s not enrolled early, four-star linebacker Jakivuan Brown is one of the highest-ranked signees in Ole Miss’ 2020 class and potentially a guy who could fill in at linebacker as a freshman.

The cupboards aren’t bare at linebacker, by any means, but the Rebels are losing Qaadir Sheppard and that leaves a big hole on the outside. Could Lane Kiffin decide to go with a fresh face and rely on his incoming class to start the program turnaround or will he rely on a veteran?

Kiffin is the kind of guy who won’t play favorites and will play the best guy. He’s very blunt as a head coach and if Brown is better than the guys he already has on the roster, he’s going to play him extensively — and I think that may be the case.

Brown is ranked the No. 300 overall prospect and 19th-best outside linebacker in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports.
