In one of the more interesting storylines this offseason, Auburn’s leading rusher JaTarvious Whitlow entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. He has over 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground over the past two seasons, but he’s not going to lead the team for a third straight year and without him or Kam Martin, Tank Bigsby could be a realistic option.

Nearly a five-star prospect on 247Sports, Bigsby is the top-ranked early enrollee in Auburn’s 2020 class and will have the offense down by the time spring ball rolls around.

Why did Whitlow transfer? No one knows, but this leaves the door completely wide open for Bigsby to come in and compete for carries. He’s the No. 39 prospect in the country as well as the fourth-best running back and you can bet Gus Malzahn is happy he landed one of the best athletes from SEC country.

With his size — 6-foot-0 and 210 pounds — and athleticism, Bigsby should fit in right away with the Auburn offense.

Malzahn may need to find a new No. 1 rusher and while that may not be Bigsby from day one, the early enrollee should have a major impact on this team’s run game in 2020.
