Ohio State Football: 3 instant impact signees from 2020 class
Paris Johnson Jr. is the second-highest ranked player in Ohio State’s incoming recruiting class and there’s a good chance he’ll avoid a redshirt season to contribute to the Buckeyes’ offensive line depth right away. He may not start with Thayer Munford and Nicholas Petit-Frere back, but he should be able to crack the two-deep.
Branden Bowen is gone, likely making way for Petit-Frere, but Johnson Jr. has been the talk of the town ever since committing to the Buckeyes. He has been at the top of every fan’s wishlist in the recruiting circuit for some time and should be able to fit right into the regular rotation.
Johnson Jr. is also an early enrollee so he should have no problem making some noise this spring while also learning the playbook inside and out.
If Ohio State wants to reload up front, it should give Johnson Jr. a serious chance to fight for regular snaps. He’s a strong 6-foot-7, 290-pounder from Cincinnati who is ranked the No. 9 prospect and top offensive tackle in the 2020 class, per 247Sports.
To top it off, Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports has projected him as a future first-rounder and compared him to the Ravens’ Ronnie Stanley — not too shabby.
