Eli Drinkwitz has taken over as Missouri football’s head coach and he has the No. 50 recruiting class in the country to work with.

Barry Odom’s tenure at Missouri has been exhausted and the program moved on to Appalachian State’s Eli Drinkwitz.

No one has advanced their career faster than Drinkwitz who went from NC State quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, to Appalachian State head coach for a year and then Missouri hired him. A 12-1 season in with the Mountaineers has earned him a job in the SEC and he’ll look to fix the mess in Missouri.

Missouri was just 6-6 a season ago and was ineligible for postseason play but Drinkwitz knows how to win and will look to use the No. 50 recruiting class in the country to help him.

Which 2020 signees will have an immediate impact for Missouri?

Missouri’s offensive line will be going through some drastic changes this offseason and that could mean Drake Heismeyer will get a chance to play early on.

The Tigers are losing Yasir Durant, Trystan Colon-Castillo and Tre’Vour Simms and that means the interior of the offensive line is only returning Case Cook. If Eli Drinkwitz wants to get the offensive line back on track, he may need to look at the incoming recruiting class and the highest-ranked interior lineman in Heismeyer.

Heismeyer signed in the early period and stands 6-3 and weighs in at 283 pounds. He’s not enrolled early, but he has all the tools to fit right in this summer. He’s ranked the No. 598 overall prospect and was the 35th-best guard in the class, according to 247Sports.
