One of the most sought-after recruits in the entire 2020 class happened to be a late riser and Ennis Rakestraw picked the Tigers over the likes of Alabama and Texas. He was offered by a plethora of major programs after his senior season as he went from lightly-recruited three-star recruit to top SEC target.

Rakestraw rose a bit in the recruiting rankings, but remained a three-star. He’s listed as the No. 894 overall recruit and 69th-best cornerback in the class, according to 247Sports, and he fills a position of need.

In fact, the Tigers are losing starting cornerback Christian Holmes who entered the transfer portal this offseason, becoming the first player to leave Missouri under Eli Drinkwitz.

The three-star recruit from Duncanville, Texas, has major lockdown ability and stands 6-foot-0 and weighs in at 170 pounds. He may not look like a superstar, but I wouldn’t be all that shocked if he was an All-SEC player by his junior year.

Drinkwitz should be able to utilize Rakestraw right away even though he’s not enrolled early.
