Oklahoma football signed the No. 11 recruiting class in 2020 and Lincoln Riley has some new talent to work with. Who could play right away?

The program Lincoln Riley inhabited from Bob Stoops wasn’t exactly in a bad spot nor was it in a rebuilding phase, but what the young coach has done is nothing short of incredible.

Sure, he took over a talent-ridden team, but he has brought the Sooners to three straight playoffs while winning back-to-back-to-back Big 12 titles. Oklahoma is 36-6 in the last three years under Riley and things don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

In fact, Oklahoma just signed the No. 11 recruiting class in 2020 which is second-best in the Big 12 behind only Texas.

Which 2020 signees will have an instant impact for the Sooners?

Sure, Kennedy Brooks is returning after posting nearly 1,300 yards in 2019, but the Sooners may need some help in the backfield. Trey Sermon will be back for his senior year but had just 385 yards a season ago, T.J. Pledger returns but he had just 65 and Rhamondre Stevenson could miss the season with a team suspension, so his status is up in the air.

That’s where a talented four-star back like Seth McGowan comes into play. The Mesquite, Texas, native is ranked the No. 133 prospect in the class and is the 14th-best running back, according to 247Sports, and he could get some serious reps this spring as an early enrollee.

Lincoln Riley isn’t afraid to play the most talented backs even if they’re underclassmen and he showed that with Brooks a couple of years ago.

McGowan should see some immediate playing time for the Sooners and don’t be surprised if he rises up the depth chart by the fall.
