Gary Patterson has reeled in the No. 28 recruiting class in the 2020 class and TCU football could use some of those newcomers right away.

Although TCU isn’t considered a blue blood or even a national powerhouse, the Horned Frogs have been one of the most consistent teams in the Big 12 over the years.

Gary Patterson is one of the best coaches in the country and he just landed the No. 28 recruiting class in 2020 which was good for No. 3 in the Big 12. That alone should help the Horned Frogs keep pace with the rest of the conference and push Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Iowa State and Baylor for the top of the conference this upcoming season.

Which 2020 signees will have an instant impact for the Horned Frogs?

TCU had one of the best passing defenses in the nation which was good for No. 1 in the Big 12 in 2019. Unfortunately, the Horned Frogs are losing four starters from the defensive backfield, including cornerbacks Julius Lewis and Jeff Gladney. They have talented freshmen on the two-deep behind them, but Keontae Jenkins should also get a serious look.

Jenkins is the only pure cornerback signed in the Horned Frogs’ 2020 class and he’s one of five four-stars. The Virginia Beach-native is ranked the No. 263 overall recruit and 17th-best cornerback, according to 247Sports.

Speed is one thing that will get him on the field immediately. Well, that and opportunity. He runs a 4.47 40-yard dash and has quick hips and keeps with receivers with ease. His acceleration is impressive and has tremendous ball skills.

Patterson should get this kid on the field immediately this fall.
