Indiana football made the postseason for the first time since 2016. These three recruits should help the Hoosiers return to the postseason.

It’s not a stretch to say that the Indiana Hoosiers do not have much of football history. In 2019, there were some “firsts in a while” for IU. Last season was the first time Indiana was ranked in the top 25 since 1994. It was also the first time since 1993 the Hoosiers won eight games.

It’s fascinating to see traditional basketball schools attempt to get good at football. Indiana is attempting to join Kentucky and Duke as basketball schools searching for football relevance.

In order to do so, recruiting has to become a top priority. For the Hoosiers, this list of three was difficult. Not because the Hoosiers did not recruit well, but because they are young. They played seniors in a lot of different positions but behind many of their experienced players a lot of underclassmen.

Since head coach Tom Allen only snagged one four-star in this class, he is not bringing in high-caliber talent to take positions from older players.

Despite this small — and average — recruiting class (12th in the Big Ten/58th nationally), there are some players that will have an impact and play early.
