Kahlil Benson is a large man. At 6-6 and 332 pounds, he is a space-eater. With his size and strength, Benson has every chance to see the field this year.

It would not be a surprise if it was at defensive tackle instead of guard. Benson played defensive tackle in high school and he is bigger than any defensive lineman the currently have. He’s raw as a blocker, but his physicality at the point of attack is undeniable. If the staff decided to have him switch positions, he would make the transition from offense to defense seamlessly.

If Benson stays on offense, he would have to compete with Stanford graduate transfer Dylan Powell. No matter what happens, Benson should see the field this season and make a great contribution.

Whether he’s competing for time on the offensive line, or he’s part of the Hoosiers’ defensive line rotation, Benson’s size and ability to move people make him a shoo-in to see the field this season.
