South Carolina Football: 3 signees who’ll have instant impacts in 2020

Two things jump out at you when looking at South Carolina’s wide receiver group. First, they are not deep with five scholarship players last season. Second, two of their top five wide receivers graduated.

Mike Wyman is an explosive player with great hands and the ability to high-point the football. He will have every opportunity to not only see action but to start for the Gamecocks next season.

Much like running back prospect MarShawn Lloyd, Wyman comes to Colombia part of a talented wide receiver class in 2020.

South Carolina did not have much in the way of explosive playmakers on the perimeter. Was that due to the sometimes vanilla offense? Maybe it was, but there was not very much team speed offensively either. South Carolina intentionally recruited to combat this problem.

Expect Wyman, along with Rico Powers Jr. and Ger-Cari Caldwell to push veterans Shi Smith and OreTre Smith for snaps and possibly to start.
