2. Alton Robinson, DE, Syracuse

The Senior Bowl was also beneficial for a player like Alton Robinson who went from late-round selection to potential second or third-rounder. He measured in at 6-3, 264 pounds, which is a great size for an NFL-caliber pass-rusher that can also make an impact in stopping the run.

Robinson performed his best in the measuring drill such as the 40-yard dash and the vertical jump. Robinson ran the 40-yard dash at 4.69 seconds, which is the third-fastest time of all the defensive linemen and edge rushers. He also accounted for 25 bench press reps, which is more than other bigger defensive linemen. His vertical jump measured in at 35.5 inches, which is .5 less than the leader in Miami’s Jonathan Garvin.

His broad jump measured in at 119 inches, which is tied for eighth of all defensive linemen and edge rushers. In the three-cone drill, he timed in at 7.33-seconds (tied for fourth of defensive linemen).

Finally, in the 20-yard shuttle, Robinson timed in at 4.32-seconds, which is the second-best time of all defensive linemen.

Robinson was highly consistent in the quantitative drills that measured his great athleticism, speed, and explosiveness. After the combine, NFL.com has Robinson graded at 6.33, labeling him as a player who will be a starter within his first two seasons. He could find himself selected early in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
