Maryland Football: 3 instant impact signees from 2020 class

Maryland football pulled in the No. 31 class. Which local signees from the Terps’ 2020 recruiting class will have the biggest impact next season?

In 2019, the Maryland Terrapins were the nation’s favorite team through two weeks that put up an obscene number of points for against nobody and then tripped on its own shoelaces for about two months before face-planting onto a concrete curb.

While Terps fans are currently distracted by basketball season, second-year head coach Mike Locksley looks to find a local spark to reignite the football team. He may have done just that in his first full class in College Park.

Brought on largely for his recruiting prowess, especially in the DMV area, Locksley needs wins off the field after getting only three on the turf in 2019. He’s fighting an uphill battle to keep local players around to play for the struggling Terps, when bigger programs have been raiding the area for years.

Given the poor season preceding the 2020 recruiting class, he had a solid performance on the recruiting trail that largely targeted the teams biggest holes while also throwing in some start power. The class ranked 31st nationally and sixth in the Big Ten.
