Texas A&M football could turn a corner in 2020 thanks to another solid recruiting class and some key returning pieces.

Jimbo Fisher took over a program a couple of years ago that needed a little extra guidance after Kevin Sumlin struggled to get the Aggies over the top. Texas A&M decided to bring in the national title-winning head coach to turn the program around.

The Aggies have seen recruiting make a drastic jump over the past few years, landing the No. 4 class in 2019 and then the No. 6 class in 2020. These two classes should help close the gap that Georgia, LSU and Alabama have created in the SEC. I’m not saying that Texas A&M will be in ‘national title or bust’ mode heading into 2020, but the Aggies are getting closer to SEC title contention.

Texas A&M had the fourth-best recruiting class in the SEC in 2020 so that just goes to show how deep this league is that the No. 6 group in the nation is only No. 4 in the conference.

If you’re looking for a team that could make a considerable jump in 2020 in terms of incoming talent mixed with key returning pieces to create the perfect formula for a surprise SEC title run, it would have to be the Aggies.

Heading into spring ball, expectations are at an all-time high, but will Fisher and Texas A&M live up to those?
