Jimmy Lake is in his first year as head coach of Washington football, so which 2020 signees could have an immediate impact for the Huskies?

There’s a new era gracing Seattle with the sudden retirement (maybe or maybe not permanent) of Chris Petersen and promotion of Jimmy Lake to head coach.

Washington had a disappointing season, going just 8-5 after possessing College Football Playoff expectations before the year. Jacob Eason was expected to come home and help lead the Huskies to a Pac-12 title and a playoff berth, but the team struggled more than expected.

Under Lake’s control in 2020, will the Huskies rebound and take control of the Pac-12? The No. 16 recruiting class in the country and second-best in the Pac-12 should help matters.

Which signees have an instant impact for the Huskies in 2020?

Washington’s second-highest ranked recruit in the 2020 class should see the field right away, especially since he fills a position of need for the Huskies.

Aaron Fuller, Andre Baccellia and Chico McClatcher are all graduating which means that Jalen McMillan should have an opportunity to come in and play from day one. He’s not one of the three early enrolled signees, but he’s talented and smart enough to make a move on the depth chart this fall.

McMillan is ranked the No. 67 overall prospect and 12th-best receiver in the class, according to 247Sports, and the recruiting site’s Brandon Huffman even compared him to Keenan Allen. That’s some high praise and it should have Washington fans very excited.

The incoming freshman has speed, running a 4.53 40-yard dash, and plenty of athleticism, so expect him to play right away.
