The quarterback position is a major question mark heading into the 2020 season with Jacob Eason declaring for the NFL draft and Jacob Sirmon returning for his redshirt sophomore campaign.

Sirmon may be the favorite to start for the Huskies after coming into the program a couple of years ago as a top-100 recruit, but don’t sleep on Ethan Garbers.

The four-star gunslinger from Newport Beach, Calif., is the No. 120 overall prospect in the class as well as the fourth-best pro-style passer, according to 247Sports. He has decent size at 6-3, 193 pounds, but he is facing an uphill battle by not enrolling early and already sitting behind Sirmon on the depth chart coming in.

Could he shock people and overtake the starting job this fall? It’s not likely, but if he can even push Sirmon to play at a higher level, that’s a good enough impact.

Garbers should get a decent run on the depth chart and could break the two-deep by fall ball and nothing is out of the question in terms of the starting job.
