Ole Miss Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
How good can Alabama be without Tua Tagovailoa? Actually, really good. The Crimson Tide may be losing an All-American quarterback, top draft prospect and Heisman contender, but they’ll replace him with either Mac Jones, his younger brother or one of the top incoming freshman dual-threats in the nation. Moreover, the Tide return Najee Harris, DeVonta Harris and Jaylen Waddle on offense to pack a punch.
Ole Miss will have a tough time slowing down the Tide attack while also struggling to score on a loaded defense with Dylan Moses returning. This Alabama team is just too good and Ole Miss won’t have a chance, even on their own field. Only a few years before this game is competitive again.
Final Score: Alabama 41, Ole Miss 17 (1-4, 0-3)
Vanderbilt isn’t in a good place in the SEC right now. Derek Mason held onto his job for at least another year despite not light at the end of the Commodores’ tunnel. He may be a solid coach, but he’s in over his head in Nashville.
That’ll show in this one against a one-win Ole Miss team. The Rebels will score at will against the Commodores and show that they’re the hungrier team on both sides of the ball. Vanderbilt will put up a faint fight but it’ll be too little too late as the Rebels earn their first SEC win of the season.
Final Score: Ole Miss 31, Vanderbilt 20 (2-4, 1-3)
