Utah Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
Wyoming pulled off a Power Five upset over Missouri in 2019 and if Utah isn’t safe, the Utes may also fall victim to an early-season surprise. Laramie will be buzzing with the Utes coming to town and Craig Bohl should have his Cowboys ready.
This isn’t going to be a walk in the park for Utah despite going in as a healthy favorite because Wyoming returns plenty of talent but may not quite have the firepower on offense to keep up with Jake Bentley and the Utes. This one comes down to the wire.
Final Score: Utah 31, Wyoming 27 (3-0)
Justin Wilcox led Cal to an impressive 8-5 record a season ago as the Golden Bears even made an early-season appearance in the AP Top 25. Things settled down as they came back down to earth shortly after, but the defense was solid as was sophomore quarterback Chase Garbers.
Well, Garbers returns this season after passing for 1,772 yards and 14 touchdowns with three picks and he could give the Utes’ defense a tough test.
Utah will overcome and pull off a big road win for the second straight week.
Final Score: Utah 28, Cal 20 (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12)
