Utah Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
The USC Trojans accounted for Utah’s only regular season loss a season ago and it was a bit shocking because they finished the year with a disappointing record. Clay Helton surprisingly retained his job as head coach and he’ll likely be coaching for another year in this one.
If USC can pull off another upset of Utah, that could create some momentum for the Trojans moving forward, but don’t count on it.
Playing in Salt Lake City with revenge on the minds of the Utes, this game all but locked up for Utah in Week 5.
Final Score: USC 21, Utah 27 (5-0, 2-0)
No Mike Leach? Well, the Pac-12 just got a little more boring. The Cougars also got slightly less intimidating, especially in Pullman, with Leach moving on to Mississippi State.
Anthony Gordon is gone and the offense should take a step back under Nick Rolovich, although it shouldn’t take too long before it’s potent again. For now, the Cougars are going through a rebuilding year and they won’t be able to take down a Utes team that is just rolling.
Final Score: Utah 31, Washington State 14 (6-0, 3-0)
