After predicting a perfect start through the first three games of the season for Wisconsin football, how do the next three games look?

The date is Sept. 26. If you’re Wisconsin head football coach Paul Chryst, your team has likely passed the season’s first three tests, but you join them in anticipation of the most brutal trio of tilts they will face all season.

The sight of Michigan, Notre Dame and Minnesota on your schedule may not be the fear-striker it would have been in the 1930s.

There is something to be said for the fact that the Gophers are likely the biggest threat among that group. It’s ironic that a 2018 Minnesota team that was struggling to stay bowl eligible whipped the Badgers that year, a 2019 Gopher squad with only one loss to their name and a  shot at the Big Ten West title could not handle the boys from Madison.

Michigan couldn’t handle Wisconsin either as the Badgers thrashed the Wolverines with ease.

The maize and blue defense surrendered 467 yards and four turnovers to UW in a 35-14 loss at Camp Randall. Jim Harbaugh’s club would later defeat Notre Dame in convincing fashion; the Irish return to Wisconsin’s schedule for the first time since Lyndon B. Johnson was the sitting United States president.

We will take a close look at the second quarter of the Badgers’ season below.
