Oklahoma State Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
Oklahoma State football is going to be one of the favorites to win the Big 12 in 2020, but can Mike Gundy take care of business and top the Sooners?
Mike Gundy has one of the best teams in the Big 12 heading into the 2020 season with three big names coming back in Spencer Sanders, Chuba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace.
Teams that have a ‘Big 3’ like the one Oklahoma State has usually have a leg up on competition and not many programs have that type of elite returning production.
Sanders is entering his sophomore season after breaking out as a freshman but having his first year cut short due to injury. Hubbard is a 1,000-yard rusher and may have been one of the top backs chosen in the 2020 NFL Draft if he decided to enter his name, but he wanted to return for one more season in Stillwater. Lastly, Wallace may just be the Big 12’s best receiver and he, too, is coming off a season-ending injury and a shocking decision to return.
When you think of Big 12 contenders, Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor usually come to mind, but this season seems as wide open as any with the Longhorns coming off a tough year, the Sooners losing Jalen Hurts and the Bears losing Matt Rhule to the NFL.
Does that mean Oklahoma State is a lock to win the conference? No, but it opens the door for the Cowboys to enter the race. They have the talent, but will they live up to the hype?
