The college football transfer portal gave us some interesting moves. Here are five transfers to watch during the upcoming season.

The transfer portal has been active this offseason. Not only that, but there have also been many graduate transfers as well.

New faces in new places mean lots of interesting storylines coming into next season. For example, Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach easily solved his quarterback problem with KJ Costello transferring from Stanford. The Razorbacks and first-year head coach Sam Pittman get a veteran transfer in Feleipe Franks to steady the ship to give their young time to develop. Meanwhile Phil Jurkovec fills a need at Boston College at quarterback.

There are some transfers that are moving down a level. Former North Carolina State quarterback Matthew McKay is going to Montana State. Sam Saxton is transferring to Stephen F. Austin from Texas — some are moving from the Power Five to the Group of Five. Jerome Ford is transferring from Alabama to Cincinnati. Former West Virginia running back Martell Pettaway is leaving Morgantown for Murfreesboro joining Middle Tennessee.

No matter where these transfers are going, let’s hope they get the opportunity to play.

Of all the transfers who have new homes next season, these are five who you should be keeping your eyes on in 2020.
