2. Texas

Stop me if you have heard this before: Texas may finally be back.

The Longhorns have a lot of momentum heading into 2020 after a big blowout win over Utah in the Alamo Bowl to end last season. They are returning 82 percent of their production on defense and most importantly, Sam Ehlinger is returning for his senior season and could be a potential Heisman candidate.

Tom Herman knows there will be some pressure heading into 2020 after last season’s disappointment, which is why he went out and hired Ohio State quarterbacks coach Mike Yurich to be the Longhorns’ new offensive coordinator. Moreover, after firing Todd Orlando as defensive coordinator, Herman hired former Ohio State defensive coordinator and Rutgers head coach Chris Ash to be the new defensive coordinator.

Texas will have a chance to make an early statement in Week 2 when they travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU. This is a really big year for Herman and the Longhorns and he needs to deliver it with a Big 12 championship.
