Quarterback

Starting quarterback: D’Eriq King
Backup: N’Kosi Perry (2), Tate Martell (3)

The Hurricanes are hoping that Houston transfer D’Eriq King will be the answer at quarterback this season.

From Kirby Freeman to Robert Marve to Malik Rosier, the Hurricanes have been looking for good quarterback play for nearly two decades now and I believe that they have found it in King, who but up some massive numbers as Houston’s starter in 2018.

The battle for the backup quarterback will be key and is something to follow all season.

N’Kosi Perry is the more experienced of the two between him and Tate Martell, but I think that the latter suffered from being a bad fit in Dan Enos’s offense last season and could actually thrive under new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee.

True freshman and former four-star recruit Tyler Van Dyke will probably take a redshirt year this year, but the young quarterback could be the future at the position for the Hurricanes in 2021.
