LSU football won the national title last season. Will it be able to duplicate its success? Here are three storylines coming into next season.

We are going to look back on the 2019 season and realize what the LSU Tigers did was one of the most impressive things in the history of college football.

Their season was the very definition of a perfect storm. The synergy and chemistry between the players and coaches produced a season like we’ve never seen before.

The leap quarterback Joe Burrow made from year one to year two in Baton Rouge is without precedent. The x-factor in his improvement? Passing game coordinator Joe Brady. Dave Aranda’s defense improved as they got healthy. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the unsung hero of the offense.

Well, that was last season. This is a new year with new expectations. One of the unique aspects of college football is that things change. Success breeds change in college football.

LSU is no different.

The Tigers are losing eight underclassmen to the NFL draft this season in addition to the nine seniors that are graduating. Brady is also off to the NFL. He took the offensive coordinator job with the Carolina Panthers. Aranda, last year’s defensive coordinator, is now the new head coach of the Baylor Bears.

What will this season bring in Baton Rouge? The bar is set pretty high after last season’s success.

Here are three storylines to watch for coming into next season.
