Scouting Report. player. 840. Pick Analysis. Oct. 3. Gainesville (Fla.). Florida Gators. 5

This will be when South Carolina meets its match and suffers its first loss of the season.

Florida will be a top-10 team heading into the season and will be looking to win the SEC East and possibly be a College Football Playoff dark-horse. The Gators will be dynamite on offense with Kyle Trask returning at quarterback and all of the offensive firepower will be too much for the Gamecocks to handle on the road and be able to pull the upset.

Final Score: South Carolina 17, Florida 35 (4-1, 2-1)

Pick Analysis. Oct. 10. 6. player. Scouting Report. Columbia (S.C.). Tennessee Volunteers. 839

After two straight SEC contests on the road, the Gamecocks return to Columbia to take on Tennessee after their first loss of the season the week before to Florida.

This will be a game of evenly-matched teams who will be fighting to see who is the third-best team behind Georgia and Florida in the SEC East.

Despite this game being at home, I actually see the Volunteers coming into Columbia and pulling off a mild “upset” here. Tennessee ended last season on a six-game winning streak and return a lot of production from that team and the Vols will be looking to be relevant for the first time in what feels like ages.

Highly contested game that goes to Tennessee.

Final Score: South Carolina 31, Tennessee 35 (4-2, 2-2)
