2. Can the offense live up to the potential?

Count me as one of the people who thought that USC’s offense was sunk the second that JT Daniels was injured in the first game of the season against Fresno State. In came freshman Kedon Slovis and the rest is history.

USC was very explosive on offense last season and bring back nine starters. The biggest reason the Trojans could have an elite offensive unit this season is that Graham Harrell turned down offers from Texas and the Philadelphia Eagles to remain the offensive coordinator at USC.

One area that needs to improve on is the run game. Even though USC runs the air raid and does not run the football as much as the typical team, ranking 118th in rushing offense is not going to get it done.

The strength of the offense will be the passing attack with Slovis back with a year of experience under his belt and Tyler Vaughns and Amon-Ra St. Brown back at receiver.

The offense has immense potential and it might need to be high-scoring until the defense gets up to speed.
