3. Jeremiah Payton
Miami will be looking to replace some production at the receiver position with the departures of KJ Osborn and Jeff Thomas. Osborn was a solid, consistent option for the Hurricanes last season and Thomas was explosive, but was always tough to rely on.
One guy who could step up this season is redshirt freshman Jeremiah Payton. As a former four-star recruit, he played sparingly last season, catching only one pass for 23 yards, but from all reports from the brief spring practice that Miami had, he was a guy that was looking to make an impact this season.
Miami is going to a more wide open and spread offense with the hiring of Rhett Lashlee as the new offensive coordinator. Payton has all of the talent to be a No. 1 receiver at this level and don’t be surprised if he takes strides towards doing so this season.
