Iowa State Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
It’s never easy beating TCU in Fort Worth. Gary Patterson has built a consistent winner in the Horned Frogs and they’re going to take a step forward in 2020. The Horned Frogs have a solid young quarterback in Max Duggan and he’s going to be a thorn in the side of opponents for years.
Will TCU win the Big 12 title this season? Probably not, but they’re going to probably win 7-9 games and pull off some upsets in the process.
This may not be an upset officially, but it’ll be a quality win.
Final Score: Iowa State 24, TCU 27 (6-3, 3-3)
Despite losing Matt Rhule to the NFL, the Bears should be just fine under new head coach Dave Aranda — I mean, he does have a national title under his belt. The former LSU defensive coordinator should have Baylor playing some of the best defense in the Big 12 this season but the offense could be a question mark.
Charlie Brewer is back for another season but who will start in the backfield? Who will step up as the No. 1 receiver for Denzel Mims?
With all of those question marks, I’m giving Iowa State the slight nod.
Final Score: Baylor 17, Iowa State 23 (7-3, 4-3)
