Michigan Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
The last time Indiana beat Michigan was in 1987 and that game was played in Bloomington. That doesn’t mean the Hoosiers don’t put up a fight with the Wolverines each season.
In fact, four of the past five meetings were decided by 11 points or less. Indiana knows how to keep things interesting against Michigan and with Michael Penix Jr. returning for his sophomore season, I could see that being the case once again.
Even though this game is in Ann Arbor, I could see the Wolverines looking ahead too much to Ohio State and Penix Jr. and the Hoosiers will catch them off guard.
We’ll have an upset alert brewing in Ann Arbor here, but Indiana won’t be able to end that 33-year streak.
Final Score: Indiana 30, Michigan 33 (9-2, 6-2)
At this point in the season, Michigan will already be mathematically eliminated from the Big Ten title race as Ohio State has already sewn it up, but this is a chance for the Wolverines to play spoiler to the Buckeyes’ playoff hopes.
The last time Michigan beat Ohio State was back in 2011 when Luke Fickell was the interim coach, but it’s been ugly since. Will we see a repeat of the last two seasons when the Buckeyes won in blowout fashion?
I don’t think it’ll be that lopsided, but Ohio State keeps that streak alive and makes it nine wins in a row over the Wolverines, making Michigan fans ponder change.
Final Score: Michigan 21, Ohio State 35 (9-3, 6-3)
