Mississippi State Football: Way-too-early 2020 game-by-game predictions
This is the first “big” game of the season for Mississippi State as the Bulldogs host a ranked Texas A&M team. The Aggies will be trending in the right direction to this point in the season, ranked 4-0 heading into a big road battle with the Bulldogs. And this one will have some offensive fireworks.
Texas A&M is in year three of Jimbo Fisher and the expectations are for title contention. Will he pull off a big win over Mike Leach in Starkville? He’ll get the job done, but it’ll be back and forth for three quarters as KJ Costello throws a critical pick in the fourth quarter to effectively end the game.
Final Score: Texas A&M 37, Mississippi State 28 (4-1, 1-1)
Alabama hasn’t had much resistance in the SEC during the Nick Saban era, but the Crimson Tide were bested by LSU last season as the Tigers won the conference and national titles.
The Crimson Tide are one of the teams no one wants to mess with and Mississippi State knows that all too well as the Bulldogs haven’t beaten Alabama since 2007. Yes, that makes Saban 12-1 against the Bulldogs as head coach of the Crimson Tide and we won’t expect that to change much in 2020.
Final Score: Mississippi State 13, Alabama 42 (4-2, 1-2)
