Mississippi State Football: Way-too-early 2020 game-by-game predictions
The reigning national champs await Mississippi State just one week after the big bad Crimson Tide smack the Bulldogs around.
Joe Burrow is gone as is Clyde Edwards-Helaire and a handful of NFL prospects on the defensive side of the ball but that doesn’t make this game any less daunting. Death Valley is one of the toughest places to play in the country and Mississippi State will find that out the hard way.
LSU will race out to a big lead and maintain it, winning by almost three full touchdowns.
Final Score: Mississippi State 17, LSU 37 (4-3, 1-3)
Riding a three-game losing streak, Mississippi State needs a win in the worst way, but unfortunately that’s not going to happen here.
Mike Leach’s first season will have plenty of bumps in the road and a four-game losing streak in the month of October will highlight that. Auburn has one of the best young quarterbacks in the nation in Bo Nix and he’s going to have a field day against the Bulldogs’ defense.
Kylin Hill and the offense won’t be completely stymied, but it’ll still be a long day as they’ll be playing catch-up for four quarters.
Final Score: Auburn 30, Mississippi State 20 (4-4, 1-4)
