Alabama football has had some amazing moments since Nick Saban came to Tuscaloosa. Which moment was the best of them all?
We’ve all witnessed greatness from Alabama football for over a decade. Ever since Saban was kissed as he walked down the Tarmac in Tuscaloosa, we knew that something special was going to happen. However, no one expected this.
Five titles. Two Heismans. Countless NFL Draft picks. I’ve combed through it all and selected the 68 best Alabama football moments for the ‘Bama Dynasty Bracket. Over the next few weeks, I will be writing articles about these moments and having Twitter polls @DakotaJamesCox. You can vote there for your favorite moments and keep up with the bracket as it goes along.
With that being said, let’s start with the play-in games. Although it is usually for 16-seeds and 11-seeds, I made it all 16-seeds since there were not automatic bids into the bracket. Believe it or not, it was hard to narrow the list down to just 68 items.
Tua’s touchdown vs. Louisville
We all remember this highlight play from Tua Tagovailoa. After earning the starting job for good, he scrambled in the pocket and threw a strike to Jerry Jeudy, one of many in his college football career. He would later describe this play as a “God Bless and a Roll Tide.”
Adam Griffith going 5/5 on fields goals against Auburn
In his revenge game in Jordan-Hare after the Kick-6, kicker Adam Griffith went a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals, including a 50-yard bomb against the Tigers.
Jalen TD pass to Jaylen
Another Auburn play, this was Jalen Hurts’ final throw in Bryant-Denny Stadium, and it was a precursor for the SEC Title game the next week.
Tide receivers playing rock-paper-scissors
I mean, in case there was ever any doubt that Alabama had the greatest receiving corps of all time.
Saban chewing out Kiffin
One of many, this is when Saban coined the term “a** chewings.”
Saban chewing out A.J. McCarron
Saban was one of the rare times where Saban let it loose on his leader during a game, but it got the right result.
Najee Harris hurdling touchdown vs. South Carolina
The hands. The juke. The hurdle. Truly a spectacular play.
Jerry Jeudy juking entire teams
I couldn’t decide on a singular moment for this one, but just the iconic scene of Jerry Jeudy causing grown men to look like toddlers with his ability to stop on a dime and juke in any direction.
