NFL Draft 2020: Complete first-round mock, post-free agency
The New England Patriots are at a point in their franchise where they can continue their extensive run of the AFC East or they will collapse.
Without Tom Brady, most people believe that the Patriots are now vulnerable. Head coach Bill Belichick does not believe that. While they need a new franchise quarterback leading the helm, they have a chance to get Cam Newton or Jameis Winston.
Their biggest concern lies on the defensive side of the ball.
Belichick has an instinct on drafting and development consistent and elite middle linebackers. The loss of outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy will be significant and hope more pressure on Dont’a Hightower on the outside.
Drafting a consistent pure middle linebacker like Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray will ease the pressure off every defensive player on the Patriots’ defense. They can also get Washington’s Jacob Eason if they feel a need to get a franchise quarterback.
