Scouting Report. 25. 60. Pick Analysis. CB. Clemson. A.J. Terrell. player

The Minnesota Vikings are back in the draft with their pick having to address the most important position need on the team.

Cornerback Xavier Rhodes has declined his production and consistency at an alarming rate. The Vikings release the three-time Pro Bowl cornerback as he showed he cannot cover some of the top NFC North receivers. Minnesota not only lost Rhodes but they lost Mackenzie Alexander and Trae Waynes leaving only Mike Hughes as the main impact coverage corner.

Drafting a cornerback like A.J. Terrell will balance out their need to cover short passes and deep passes. He’s a corner that is more specialized in cover three schemes that makes more efficient in deep passing situations. Terrell will need to be efficient in dynamic passing situations once he transitions completely to the NFL.

His instincts, playing ability, and his body frame can make a dominant cornerback in the NFL for years to come.
