UCLA Football: Way-too-early 2020 game-by-game predictions
Many may be looking at this game as a must-win for Chip Kelly, but the Bruins are already going bowling and that type of progress will be enough to retain him for at least another season.
For Clay Helton, though, this is even more crucial of a game. He needs to beat the Bruins on the road in this one if he wants to come back for one more year.
USC has too much talent on that roster to finish with yet another disappointing loss in this rivalry and Kedon Slovis will be too much for UCLA’s defense to handle.
Final Score: USC 38, UCLA 30 (7-4, 4-4)
Will UCLA pick up a big win over Cal to finish the season and finish with double the amount of wins as losses? It’s possible, but this will be a season of streaks and the Bruins will end the year on a two-game losing skid.
There’s a good chance UCLA could pull off a big win here, but I just don’t see the Bruins jumping all the way to eight wins, so finishing the regular season 7-5 isn’t a bad consolation. Hey, at least they’re going bowling.
Final Score: UCLA 17, Cal 27 (7-5, 4-5)
