The Midwest is rich with talent in the 2021 class, like always, but which prospects sit atop Notre Dame football’s recruiting board?

If you’re Brian Kelly, you have to feel good about the way recruiting has been trending over the past few classes.

In fact, the Irish have the No. 6 recruiting class in 2021, the No. 17 class in 2020, the No. 16 class in 2019 and the No. 10 class in 2018. The Irish are starting to recruit like a true blue blood again and that means Notre Dame will be back in the playoff hunt once again this season.

Notre Dame has plenty of talent and things are looking up, but the 2021 class is only seven prospects deep. That number will grown soon enough, whenever recruiting’s COVID-19 dead period is over, especially in the Midwest which produces elite talent every year.

The state of Indiana may not have the most talent in terms of football recruits in the country, but will the Irish dip into their own backyard for some top prospects in 2021? Probably not, but they won’t have to go far for some big names.

Who tops the recruiting board for Notre Dame in the Midwest for 2021?
