If you know anything about Notre Dame, it’s that the Fighting Irish have produced a plethora of NFL talent at the tight end position over the years and landing a top-100 prospect like Thomas Fidone wouldn’t be all that shocking.

Fidone is one of the best tight ends in the entire class, ranking as the No. 99 overall prospect and No. 2 tight end, according to the 247Sports composite. He is also 247Sports‘ No. 1 overall tight end and 40th-ranked prospect. If the Irish can land him, he’d have an immediate impact and surely would become the next great tight end to play in South Bend.

The Iowa-native has plenty of size at 6-foot-4.5 and 218 pounds and played some receiver at the high school level, but could afford to add some weight if he plans on playing tight end.

Allen Trieu of 247Sports had lofty praise for the talented tight end from Iowa, comparing him to Zach Ertz. Imagine this kid lining up at tight end for the Irish and catching passes and running routes like Ertz — that’s just not fair for everyone else.
