UCLA Football: Top 3 early in-state recruiting targets in 2021 class

Chip Kelly has just one pledge in UCLA football’s 2021 recruiting class, but there will be more on the way. Who are the top in-state targets?

Recruiting has been quiet for UCLA’s 2021 class with only one player committed, but you can bet Chip Kelly is ready to fix that with a plethora of in-state targets with high ratings left on the board.

Fighting nearby programs like USC, Oregon, Stanford and Cal for players from the state of California is never easy and there’s even national powerhouses like Ohio State, Alabama and Notre Dame coming into the state to take some of the top talents. Will that continue in 2021 or will Kelly and the Bruins hold down their own backyard and keep these prospects home?

There’s still a long way to go in the 2021 class and that means these top in-state kids will get to listen to Kelly’s pitch as well as those from out-of-state powers before making that decision.

Also, with the college football season seemingly on hold with COVID-19 taking center stage, we could even see National Signing Day pushed back if the 2020 season is, too.

The Bruins still need to fill that class and whenever in-person recruiting resumes, Kelly needs to get a handful of top targets on campus, including those from their own backyard.
