The Saturday Blitz Podcast returns this week to discuss a recent Stadium poll about College Football Playoff expansion and offer up our all-time brackets.

While much of the country remains locked down under stay-at-home orders and self-imposed quarantines, college football fans at least knew that this time of year was going to be a slow period. Spring practices are no longer taking place, but we would still have been looking for new subject matter to bring to the table week over week. And in times like these, few topics are more fun to discuss than the future form of the College Football Playoff.

We return with this week’s Saturday Blitz Podcast to go right into that subject, inspired by the recent Stadium survey of FBS athletic directors on the size and shape they would prefer for the College Football Playoff when the current contract runs out after the 2025 season.

In the first segment, we go into the nuts and bolts of the survey and the overwhelming support for the College Football Playoff to expand to eight teams. In addition, we dive into further questions posed to the athletic directors about how those eight seeds should be determined and where they should play each set of playoff contests.

After a quick break, we return to put an expanded playoff into action. Picking the best teams from the BCS era to the present using the preferred selection criteria of FBS athletic directors, we both offer our own brackets for an all-time ultimate playoff of teams from the modern era of the sport.
