Michigan Football: Is Donovan Peoples-Jones a sleeper in deep WR draft?
Weaknesses
One of the most notable things about Donovan Peoples-Jones career at Michigan is that he never posted a single 100-yard game. Now, as mentioned before, the play-calling and quarterback play haven’t been all that great during DPJ’s three year career but this can be contributed to his inability to create separation between him and the defender.
Despite his size and quickness, DPJ at times would seem to always have a defender right on his hip. This led to him not being able to open up the throwing window and give enough sure space for the ball to be thrown his way.
And while being flashy isn’t everything, DPJ never really had a play that made you want to watch it on reply, despite being one of the fastest and more athletic players on the field. He has big-play capabilities but getting over that hump will be his biggest task entering the league.
