4. Washington State

There is an adage, “Sometimes the simplest answer is the best answer.” The Cougars make sense because they do not have a quarterback on their roster that has thrown a collegiate pass. All three of the quarterbacks from last season’s team graduated.

JT Daniels transferring to Pullman instantly makes him the best quarterback on their roster. The learning curve between the run-and-shoot and the air-raid is not super steep. Daniels has proven he is comfortable throwing in a spread style offense.

First-year head coach  Nick Rolovich is looking to make a splash year one in Pullman and getting Daniels would be a coup. Daniels is the perfect quick decision-maker with the arm to push the ball downfield in the run-and-shoot offense.

Both Jayden de Lauria and Will Heckman come on campus this season for Washington State; de Lauria as a signee and Heckman as a transfer from New Mexico. However, Daniels instantly upgrades their quarterback room.

There is, however, a condition. USC can block him from going anywhere in the conference. At the same time, Daniels is a west coast guy and might not want to leave Pac-12 country. This is all the more reason it makes sense for him to stay at USC.
