Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 47. WR. Kentucky. Lynn Bowden Jr.. 3

When turning on the film, it’s hard to find a more exciting player in this year’s draft than Kentucky’s Lynn Bowden Jr.

After a disappointing freshman season on and off the field, Bowden broke out as a Sophomore. He hauled in 67 catches for 745 yards and five touchdowns and also returned two punts for touchdowns to help guide the Wildcats to a 10-win season.

In Kentucky’s first five games of the 2019 season, Bowden hauled in 348 receiving yards and a touchdown. With injuries to starting quarterback Terry Wilson and backup Sawyer Smith, Bowden moved under center to utilize his speed.

He ran for an incredible SEC-leading 1,468 yards and 13 touchdowns while also throwing for 403 yards and three scores. The All-American led, UK to a Belk Bowl victory over Virginia Tech and cemented his legacy as one of the best players in school history.

In the NFL, Bowden will likely go back to the receiver position and should hear his name called in the third round. There, the New England Patriots would be a perfect fit with the 87th overall pick.

New England needs playmakers and with Tom Brady gone, they will need to get creative. They can use Bowden in Wildcat formations, and in the slot to throw defenses off guard and utilize his explosiveness.

Projection: Third round (No. 87 overall to Patriots)
