Kentucky Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
The Wildcats will take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles for a third straight year when they kickoff the 2020 season with them on Sept. 5.
UK took down EMU 24-20 at Kroger Field in 2017 and beat them in Lexington again in 2019 38-17. In last season’s victory, Kentucky starting quarterback Terry Wilson suffered a season torn patellar tendon and ironically, he will likely make his return under center against the same Eagles team.
Expect Wilson and the Cats to come out motivated for revenge on EMU and hand them a third loss in Lexington in the last four years.
Final Score: Kentucky 35, Eastern Michigan 13 (1-0)
In their last trip to Gainesville, the Wildcats ended their 31-game losing streak to the Florida Gators with a 27-16 victory. Last year the Gators got their revenge with their second 11 point comeback against UK in the last three years to pull off a 29-21 win in Lexington.
This battle figures to be another close one as Kentucky has proven they can hang with and even beat the Gators the last three seasons.
However, with this being the SEC opener and Florida’s hopes for an SEC Title as high as ever, it’s hard to imagine the Gators losing this early in the season. This should set up for another heartbreaker for Kentucky as the game will likely be a hard-fought battle.
Final Score: Florida 24, Kentucky 23 (1-1, 0-1 SEC)
