Deejay Dallas. 13. Miami. 6. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. RB

Deejay Dallas is a sleeper pick in this year’s draft and could surprise people with how much he contributes in his rookie season. He was a contributor for the Hurricanes since his freshman season in 2017 and seemed to get better in each season he was in Coral Gables despite playing in offensive systems that were very archaic in the play-calling and running behind some of the worst offensive lines in the country and having very subpar quarterback play.

More from Miami Hurricanes

Dallas put up career-bests in every major category in 2019. He posted 115 carries for 693 yards, eight touchdowns and averaged over 6.0 yards per carry. He also added 14 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Moreover, Dallas is a very versatile back that can be lined up anywhere on the field and also be used as a return man. He is explosive in the open field and a tough runner between the tackles. He has just average speed, however, and does not make a lot people miss.

The Los Angeles Chargers are a team that could use some depth at running back after losing Melvin Gordon to the Broncos in free agency. Austin Ekeler will be the starter, but I don’t think he’s an every-down back in the NFL and will need some good depth behind him.

Running backs are not valued very highly anymore which causes a lot of guys to slip in the draft and will be the reason Dallas remains on the board in the sixth round.

Projection: Sixth round (No. 186 overall)
