USC. player. Scouting Report. WR. Pick Analysis. Michael Pittman Jr.. 2. 46

Michael Pittman Jr. is the most underrated receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has very good size at 6-foot-4 and 224 pounds and has a very good catch radius and has good speed for someone his size evidenced by his 4.52 40-yard dash.

Pittman played sparingly as a freshman in 2016 and was mostly a special teams contributor. He took a small step forward in 2017, posting 23 catches for 404 yards and two touchdowns. He improved in his junior season in 2018 with 41 catches for 758 yards and six touchdowns.

The star wide out decided to return to Southern Cal for his senior season and it paid huge dividends. Under new offensive coordinator Graham Harrell, he emerged as the No. 1 target for the Trojans in the new air-raid offense. Pittman posted career-highs in almost every category and finished his senior season with 101 receptions for 1,275 yards and 11 touchdowns.

However, Pittman has been flying a little under the radar because he is not on the same level as the elite prospects in the class such as CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III. He is a physical receiver and has all the physical tools to be a big-time option at the next level.

The Indianapolis Colts no longer have a first-round pick after trading it to the San Francisco 49ers for DeForest Buckner, which was a big move this offseason. The Colts hold two second round picks, however, and I think they will use one of them on a wide receiver. T.Y Hilton has been one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL for the past few years, but has been injured lately and the Colts have not had the depth at receiver and could use a young threat at the position.

Pittman would complement Hilton well as he is more of a speedy, smaller option at receiver whereas the former is a more physical specimen.

Projection: Second round (No. 44 to Colts)
