player. 48. Pick Analysis. OT. Georgia. Andrew Thomas. 1. Scouting Report

The first Bulldog off the board will be, without question, Andrew Thomas. He was a top recruit heading into the college football world and is leaving it the same way.

Thomas has played on each side of the ball of the tackle position, showing off his skill and versatility at the position, but will most likely be placed at left tackle by the team who picks him up. And that list of potential teams is a long one. Protecting your quarterback’s blindside is crucial to making a Super Bowl run and Thomas fills that hole.

Predicting where an offensive lineman goes in the draft and which player at the position is drafted first can be one of the toughest positions to do so. Thomas has all the skill and speed to be the first offensive tackle taken off the board, and outside of the top two picks in the draft, could be taken early on.

But not to any of his doing, Thomas could fall out of the top 10 and that’s exactly where we have him. He will have a big role to play, protecting a familiar face, in a surprisingly new place.

Projection: First round, No. 14 (Buccaneers)
