Jalen Hurts. 3. player. 28. Pick Analysis. QB. Scouting Report. Oklahoma

Sooners quarterback Jalen Hurts may be the steal of the 2020 NFL Draft. Hurts began his college career at Alabama, whereas a true freshman in 2016, he led the Tide to a perfect regular season and to the National Championship game where they lost by three to Clemson.

In 2017, Hurts 2,081 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns and just one interception to lead Alabama back to the title game. There, however, he struggled and was replaced by Tua Tagovailoa, who would lead the Tide to victory. Hurts returned to Bama in 2018, where the starting job went to Tagovailoa, but he still play in 13 games, including coming off the bench to replace an injured Tua and help the Tide beat Georgia in the 2018 SEC title game.

Hurts then transferred to Oklahoma for his senior season where he finished as a Heisman finalist after throwing 3,851 yards and 32 touchdowns to lead the Sooners to the postseason.

Despite all this, he’s a projected third round pick and a team coached by a quarterback guru may snatch him. John Gruden and the Las Vegas Raiders love quarterbacks. With Gruden not sold on Derek Carr, drafting Hurts to be his future predecessor would make too much sense not to happen.

Projection: Third round, No. 81 (Raiders)
