DT. Alabama. 53. Pick Analysis. Raekwon Davis. 3. player. Scouting Report

Raekwon Davis has been a player who has been on the field since his freshmen season with the Crimson Tide in 2016. He came in looking to solidify himself as a dominant end who can stop the run and create some pressure as a pass rusher.

In his sophomore season in 2017, Davis accounted for 69 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. His production as a pass rusher continued to decline further in his career. In his junior season, Davis accounted for 55 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Finally, in his senior season, he accounted for 47 tackles, three tackle for loss, and only 0.5 sacks.

Davis played a combination of strong-side defensive end and a three-technique mostly contributing to stopping the run. He has a good motor and great strength but lacks the speed, athleticism and flexibility to be a pure defensive end in the NFL.

Davis can felt well with the Browns’ 4-3 defensive front scheme and can still make an impact at stopping the run from the three-technique spot.

Projection: Third round, No. 97 overall (Browns)
